February 2017 CARE Team Member Spotlight

Alessandra Riccio

Alessandra, or Al as we call her is a dedicated CARE Team member. Thanks to her efforts we were able to train over 1,200 students in the Fall 2016 semester and will continue training and conducting outreach this Spring. Learn some more information about Al below:

Major: Biochemistry

Hobbies: Hiking, swimming, camping, all things nature

Why I joined the CARE team: I joined the care team because I wanted to make a larger impact on the community. I saw how much getting RWB trained impacted my friends and I wanted to help share that knowledge. Plus, Erica told me how great the CARE team was and how amazing all of the members were.

Bio: I am a junior here at Stony Brook University and am a Resident Assistant in Ammann College. I have been an Orientation Leader for the past two summers as well and represent the university as a Student Ambassador. I am a member of the Scholars Program and love participating in the Outreach Committee. My favorite campus event is Strawberry Fest. My favorite place I have traveled to is Guatemala where I volunteered in medical clinics. I aspire to be a physician and work in the Emergency Department. I love being at Stony Brook and have met so many amazing people as part of the CARE Team!
